Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
dailyfs provides the dailyfs website and mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the dailyfs mobile app and website.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: Your email address, authentication identifiers, and any profile information you provide when registering or signing in.
- Nutrition and activity information: Food diary entries, meal descriptions, nutritional estimates, serving quantities, saved meals, nutrition goals, and grocery lists.
- Community content: Posts, text, and images you choose to share in community features. Community posts may be visible to other signed-in users and may be reviewed for moderation.
- Camera and images: If you use barcode scanning or upload images, the app may access your camera or selected photos with your permission. Uploaded community images may be stored by an image-hosting provider.
- Technical information: Basic request, error, and security information processed by our hosting and infrastructure providers.
2. How we use information
We use this information to authenticate accounts, save and sync your diary and preferences, provide nutrition calculations and AI-assisted estimates, operate community features, protect the service, troubleshoot errors, and respond to support requests.
3. AI-assisted food logging
When you submit a food description for an AI estimate, the description is sent through our Cloudflare-hosted service to Google's Gemini API to generate an estimated nutrition breakdown. AI results are estimates, may be inaccurate, and should be reviewed before saving. Please do not rely on them for medical decisions. Do not include sensitive personal information in food descriptions.
4. Third-party services
dailyfs uses service providers to operate its features, including Google Firebase for authentication and app data, Cloudflare for backend infrastructure and request handling, Google Gemini for AI-assisted food estimates, and Cloudinary for certain uploaded images. Barcode and food lookup features may also request information from third-party food databases. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices.
5. Sharing and visibility
Your private food diary, nutrition goals, and grocery lists are intended to be accessible only to your account, subject to our security controls. Content you choose to publish in community features may be visible to other users. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data storage, security, and retention
We use access controls and service-provider security features designed to protect account data. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or protect the service. For details on requesting deletion, see our account deletion page. Actual deletion may take time to propagate through backups and third-party systems.
7. Your choices and rights
You can review and edit food entries in the app. You may request account and associated data deletion using our account deletion page. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information.
8. Children's privacy
dailyfs is not intended for children under 13, or a higher minimum age where applicable. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
9. International processing
Our service providers may process or store information in countries other than your own, subject to their applicable safeguards and contractual arrangements.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will publish the revised policy on this page and update the effective date.
